Animal Shelter in Ukraine Needs Help!

Animal shelter "Beloved Stray" in Ukraine is screaming for your help!

!!! April 4, 2022. Important update:
Due to the invasion of our country situation with stray animals got even more extreme. Currently Tatiana (shelter owner) is rescuing dogs and cats who were left in active war zones either by their owners or EVEN by other shelters owners.. Since the beginning of war she sheltered over 150 animals, currently she has approximately 400 dogs, 70 cats and 6 goats.

Please note!!! 1 animal food cost PER MONTH is 24 USD - !!! (Owner of 1 pet would never be able to spend this little money per month for their dog, cat or other animal friend).

Now let's multiply 24 USD by at least 476 animals = 11426 USD per month.

A lot of animals came in sick. New sick puppies and dog that needs a surgery. Medical treatments and medicine are very expensive!

For those who wants to help in a form of food - please try to understand that if you are sending let's say 3-5 tonnes of dog/cat food from Europe (nobody will deliver less) - someone need to deliver it to the border, pick it up at the border and bring in through the half of Ukraine to Dnipro, pay for transport and gas. We already lost food aid like that and it was really really painful and frustrating. If you can organize the whole way up to the shelter - you are welcome to do so and thank you so much for that, but if not, please don't turn away and just donate money - we have where to get food in Dnipro, thank God our region is least affected, we still have some "missile guests" but not as bad compared to other regions.

A bit of history: 15 years ago woman with a very big heart named Tatiana started animal shelter, without knowing that it will completely take over her life.

All by herself, with only her income as a seamstress she started a shelter in the village that is over 40km (25miles) away from the city, without even having a car she was going there every single day back and forth, sometimes with several animals.

She bought an extremely old house on a piece of land, there was no electricity, no water, no heat, something just to have where to put animals she saved.

Only 2 years ago she started social media profiles to get help with raising money for food and medicine, because it got impossible to pay for everything alone. Currently she has about 250 animals: dogs, cats and goats, starting from 1 month old puppies until 15 year old dog.

Last year she managed to get water from the underground water source !! Before she used to bring water in huge bottles from the village 12km (7miles) away.

Also last year she managed to buy a car that was made in 1984, it broke twice within the last month, but Tatiana is endlessly grateful for this car because its better than nothing.

In our 3rd world country, animal welfare and rights are gray area, so "people" do whatever they want with stray animals, from abusing (hitting, breaking limbs, tails) to poisoning or killing whatever ways they come up with..."people" keep throwing animals on the streets, it's extremely common to find a bag or box of puppies or kittens somewhere in the forest or just next to the highway..If someone hits animal with a car 99% won't even stop. Many times Tatiana picked up animals who were hit by a car and she put them back on their paws. Honestly, it's an endless list of horrifying things that I can go on with forever, the point is that Humans like Tatiana protect those who are in need, stand up against evil no matter what. But we really need help from the rest of the planet.

Please World help us make this shelter into a better place where animals will be warm during winter and have safe, clean place to be, have separate walking territories, because not all dogs can be together. We need a separate place to quarantine animals. Last year they had a dog plague in shelter - nearly 200 dogs had plague because one came in sick. All help that Tatiana gets from Ukrainian donors is tightly enough to feed everyone, not to mention that she consistently has new animals who are in need of vet, medicine, treatments and sometimes expensive surgeries.

Tatiana does her best, but no matter how superhuman you are, you can not do EVERYTHING alone.

Together we can build a safe and loving environment for all animals in need, not just cold wooden cages, but actual buildings, where animals will be warm and have walking territories, playground, clean space, food and water.

I believe that with the right amount of funds, approximately $150,000 we will be able to rebuild the old house, build better spaces for the animals, food, vet and medical supplies, hire people to help clean the territory and get some basic utilities such as electricity and heating to improve their living space.
Once we improve those conditions the shelter will be more engaging for people who want to adopt and volunteers!
