Help to give free lay counselling

Many of us, if not all, will go through a hard time in our lives. Times of confusion, depression, maybe the death of a loved one or even relationship problems. That is not to mention the state of the Economy across the world. If we look at statistics we see that depression and hopelessness is on the increase. You might know that dark place or know someone who is battling with it. Now imagine for a second that you are trapped in a place like this, but you have no resources to help you. No finances to pay for a Psychologist. No family or friends that you can turn to. Just you and your problems.

For thousands of people this is a daily reality. That is why as a Ordained Minister and trained Lay Counselor I have seen the need and heard the call to serve the people in need. For the last two years I have been able to Pastor a small house Church ( in Redhouse, Port Elizabeth, South Africa) as well as to volunteer my time as a Lay Counselor doing face to face counselling at two Organizations in Port Elizabeth, free of charge. One organization focus on giving counselling for free to anyone who needs it and the other is an organization that works with youth who live in dire circumstances. I'm also busy with talks with a third Organization to offer free counselling. This will be at a mission station who work with people who lost everything due to difficult circumstances. I have seen many lives transformed in these last two years. Especially in Trauma counselling, and Suicide Intervention. I'm blessed that I don't just counsel Christians, but also people of other believes and religions. We all are facing times were we need someone to listen who will not judge.

As a family we have been blessed that we could do this ministry for the last two years with only the support of family and very close friends. But as we all know nothing in life is really free. And due to Economical reasons we are in the situation were we need to look for further support, so that we can continue to help those in great need. That is why I am starting this campaign. We need to raise funds so that we can continue to give this service for free to those who really need it. We need funds for to run this service, as well as our own living costs. And also so that I can study further . For example to become a disaster respond worker and counselor.
