Help to fund my son’s education

Many of you helped my family last year and I am sincerely grateful to them. Today I need your support to help my son Jihad complete his university degree and built a better future for himself and his community.

Jihad grew up in tough circumstances in Shatila refugee camp. As a Palestinian refugee, he has been exposed to the daily struggle that is the result of discrimination. However, he chose to collect the dust beneath and create with it a galaxy. To make this choice a reality, he decided to continue his university education.

Through hard work, good grades and determination, he was awarded a place at one of Lebanon's most prestigious universities, the Lebanese American University (LAU). However, university fees in Lebanon are costly and he needs a little help to get to the finish line.

This is where you come in… I want to raise money to cover his university costs.

Jihad is studying Psychology and still has one more semester to complete his degree. He won a partial scholarship from UNRWA that secured the bulk of his university education. The scholarship has now come to an end and he needs $8,500 to pay his final semester (this includes $8,000 in tuition fees, $350 for books and $150 travel costs).

In his spare time, Jihad is doing translating and tutoring work to try and save money as well as working within his local community by helping with the Yaabad Scout Troupe, which is run by his parents. The Scout Troupe plays a key role in activities to empower young people in Shatila camp and the surrounding areas and Jihad has been heavily involved in its many projects.
