Assalamualaikum and greetings. My name is Md. Kamrul Islam. I am from Bangladesh. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Germany.

I am the eldest of 3 siblings and my father worked as a manager at a local textile factory in Bangladesh while my mother is a housewife. My younger brother is doing his graduation in Business Administration and my younger sister is in her First year of University education. With my father's salary, all our family and education expenses were going smoothly. Apart from that, I was a Teaching Assistant while doing my Graduation in Bangladesh. From the salary of TA, I was able to bear my educational expenses.

My academic record, performance and dedication encouraged my father to send me abroad for higher education. He always believed in me. He thought, one day I will be able to bring huge achievement for my country, society and for our family. My father wanted to see me as a university teacher. Moreover, I also want to become a teacher and serve for the society. I like this profession and it is my passion to teach and educate others. My father always wanted me to take my higher education from a reputed foreign university. However, without scholarship it was not possible for my family to bear the expenses to study abroad. After finishing graduation, I worked for three years in a very good multinational company. I was able to save some money. I applied in some universities in 2017. But, unfortunately I was rejected for a full scholarship, but admission in few universities was accepted. I cannot go because the tuition fee and living expense together was not possible to bear for my family.

My father advised me to look for German university because education is free in German and as a student from Bangladesh the requirement was to bear the living expenses only. As per my father's instructions, I applied and got my admission in one of the reputed German University. To get German Visa, I need to bring one year living expenses, around 8640 Euro, from my home country, which I was able to manage from my savings and from my father’s savings. My father told me not to worry about the second year’s living expenses. Throughout my 1st semester in Germany, he always told me to focus on my study and complete my master’s with a good academic result. It was my deep desire to achieve something good for my father. I knew it would be the biggest present for him, from me, if I can fulfill his dream with an honor. My 1st semester result was excellent, and my father was very happy.

The second semester also started very well. However, everything in my life has been shattered after a huge event. My father got a major heart stroke and he was being hospitalized. After some days he passed away. To see and stay with my father, I came back to Bangladesh and I stayed with my family at that time. I did not want to come back and continue my study, but my mother told me to go back to Germany and finish my Master’s. My mother convinced me to return to Germany.

I started the second semester again. But, all my savings for first year living expense was finished at that time. So, I was looking for some part-time job but could not able to manage one for a long time. The problem was the language barrier as I do not know German Language. Eventually, I got a job, but the job was too much physically demanding. Also, the work is not available throughout the month, so I was hardly able to bear my half of the living expenses and could not concentrate on study properly. I talked with the University regarding my problems and they told me to take Student Loan. I refused it because how will I repay it after finishing my study as I will not stay in Germany, I need to stay and support my family, and it will also create burden for me in future.

I cannot ask for money from my family because all our family’s savings has been spent during my father's illness. Moreover, right now, my family’s financial condition is not very good. My younger brother and sister both doing part-time tuition to bear not only their educational expenses, but trying to maintain the family as well, which is difficult for them. In this circumstance, I could not help my family but worry.

On top of that, next month, I need to apply for the visa extension for another 1 year, for my third and final semester. I need to show one year living expense again and it will require 8640 euros. Otherwise, I cannot extend my visa. I cannot ask for help from anyone because who will give me this amount of money and if someone gives how will I pay back later. Moreover, in final two semesters, I need to work on my final project and thesis paper. So, there is little room to seek for a temporary job.

Due to this stress in my mind, my second semester result was not as good as it was in the first semester. My family does not know anything about this because my mother will be tensed and worried about me and I do not want to give them any stress.

Therefore, I request to all of you to sponsor for my study and ease my financial burden. Your donation will help me to continue to work harder in order to achieve my father last dream to be a teacher. Thank you so much for your time and concern, from the bottom of my heart.
