Campaign Story
Help to finance a search for Petr Mandik, a husband, a father of 3 girls, a climber, a runner and a friend.
The finances will be used for mountain rescue operations and services at the Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, New Zealand.
Petr has been missing since Friday December 13, 2019 after travelling to Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park while torrential rain saturated the area and obliterated access to several alpine routes.
He planned to walk Ball Pass Route, a challenging hike in the national park, to Haast Ridge, then to Plateau Hut and on to Aoraki/Mount Cook via Zurbriggen Ridge before returning to Christchurch.
Petr did not make his flight from Christchurch Airport on Wednesday December 18, 2019.
Please help us to bring him home for Christmas.

Zažili jsme nejsmutnější konec roku 2019 jaký si vůbec kdo může představit. Ráno 31. prosince jsme byli novozélanskými záchranáři informováni o nalezení Petra ve spodní části hřebene Haast Ridge. Moje dcery i já jsme velmi. . . . .

We have experienced the saddest end of 2019 anyone can ever imagine. By the morning 31st of December we received an information that Petr's body has been found at the bottom of the Haast. . . . .
Search continues
Update posted by Lea Mandikova at 04:36 pmRight after Petr went missing, the official search operation was executed by professional SAR team from Aoraki region. Unfortunately, it was not possible to localise Petr during the operation. Due to bad weather it wasn't possible to do detailed aerial and ground search. Unfortunately, last week the area was exposed. . . . .
