Help to a family’s home

My name is Tunde, my family and I are living in this house. We are trying to renovate it.

It was built in 18th century without a bathroom. My father built a bathroom (and a little hall) next to the house, that little white outbuilding, but he is not a professional builder and we did not have enough money to pay for one. In our region, the weather in winter is around -10 and -15 Celsius, and during the years the tubes gave up, this is the 3rd year when the water ended up frozen into the tubes and flooded the house. The biggest problem is that the walls are to thin and during the winter it seems like you are just outside, it do not seems warm inside. We tried a lot of things to repair, but we did not have the money to build a new one.

My father has been attacked by a bear in September 13, 2008, and after it is hard for him to work longer periods, he lost some important muscles, that is why the renovation takes much more time. He can work just a bit every day.

Inside the house is just two room. My parents’ bedroom and the kitchen are together; they chose to live in the kitchen, to be able to give me a separate room.

My father is a pensioner and my mom is going every second month to Budapest, and she stays there for a month, caring for an elderly woman, to earn some money because she does not really have any possibility to work in the area. But the money they earn is just enough for living, I worked and earn the amount to be able to study. We waited until I finish my studies so I can go abroad and work there and earn enough money. To demolish and build a new bathroom is around $ 4000, so it's not so horribly much, it would take some months or a half year, but we got some other problems. The roof had to be too old, an architecture said that it needed to be fixed as soon as possible and it is more than $ 10,000.

I have a dream, I'd like to be a tour guide in Transylvania, I learned Tourism in the university. If I will go abroad I need to stay there for at least 5-6 years, from how I was calculating, because of the full renovation. I know my parents will help me as they can, but after those things came out, they are more and more stressful and have a feeling that they did nothing, they were not able to give me the life I wanted. It does not matter how many times I'm telling them that I am happy just how the things are and we will fix it, they feel that they failed to be a parent and it hurts me to see them like this.

I do not want to live a life far from my family, friends and my country. My father needs me as well, a bit more than my mother I think. I love here, this is my home. I will go to work abroad, I do not expect from others to pay me everything, but I would like to ask you to share my story with some of your friends. The world is so big, full of great people, I know it because I experienced it a lot of time, so maybe somewhere, someone is able to help my parents and me. If I managed to get some money, it means I can come home earlier, be with my dad and mom and start to live my dream.
