Hi Everyone! I am Tina, 23 years of age, living in the Philippines. I am planning to go to medicine school here in the Philippines. But as far as I know, the cost of medicine here in my country is too expensive that is why I am asking for your good heart to help me raise funds for my tuition fees. I have good academic records and have been dreaming of becoming a doctor someday. As we all know there are lots of poor citizens in my country and it is my prayer and hope that I could be of great help to them in the future. I always wanted to give my service for my country and volunteer in the provincial areas to help the people in need. I hope you could help me with this and promise not to fail you all on becoming a volunteer doctor in the future.
I already passed the NMAT which is a national medical aptitude test here in the Philippines. My peercentile score is 98% which gave me the chance to attend good schools however because of the limited scholarship that they offer I still need to pay for almost 75% of the whole tuition fee. which is hard for me because I do have a son already and I dont want my parents to suffer paying for my tuition for 5 years since I also have siblings younger than me studying also.
It is indeed very important to me as I was also a mom now and I truly understand how hard it is for mommy's like me to provide best care affordable for our kids . Of course, my policy interests do not replace my passion for helping others and delivering emergency medicine. As a future doctor, I hope to continue serving in areas of the country that, for one reason or another, are lagging behind in basic health care infrastructure. Eventually, I would also like to take my knowledge and talents abroad and serve indifferent corners of the World where people need my service. In short, I see the role of physicians in society as multifunctional: they are not only doctors who heal, they are also leaders, innovators, social scientists, and patriots. Although my path to medical school has not always been the most direct, my varied and circuitous journey has given me a set of skills and experiences that many otherwise qualified applicants lack. I have no doubt that the next ten years will be similarly unpredictable, but I can assure you that no matter what obstacles I face, my goal will remain the same. I sincerely hope to begin the next phase of my journey as a successful doctor specially specializing in pediatric medicine because the future generations are the biggest assets we have on getting a bigger and brighter world. Thank you for your kind attention.
P.S the picture I posted is me and my son. He is my inspiration and I would be glad to be A GOOD EXAMPLE to him. Thank You everyone!
Doctor-Patient Ratio here in the Philippines (Barrio/Provincial Public Hospitals) = 1:50 (1 doctor/50patients) First off, thank you very much for spending the time to consider contributing to my tuition efforts. It really means a lot to me because helping each other in time of need is central to my passion of medicine.
2012: My sister died of Meningitis, due to this difficult scenario in our family lives, the eagerness to become a doctor has been my dream since then because I know that science is very flexible and broad which I think can definitely help me to do research and find cure and treatment to severe cases like this.
I’m still actively searching for alternative options to fund my studies, I do teach Online english tutorial to Asian students. I earn basically good for our daily needs and still do volunteer teaching in church youth organizations.
Tuition fees every semester + books +miscellaneous is: $3500 convertible to Php Hardship is no stranger to me, as it isn’t with most that grow up in developing countries. Nevertheless, it is that same background that has made me resilient and taught me to believe that with enough effort, anything can be achieved. I am optimistic that I will obtain my degree, and eventually return home one day, equipped to give back to the community that provided me the opportunity to become the person I am today as well as expand that vision to other developing countries where I can truly make an impact.
