Help Tiera Study Abroad in Spain

Hello. My name is Tiera Burks and I'd like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. I am a junior, Psychology major and Spanish minor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro who was selected to study aboard in Spain this summer for 5 weeks. I graduated with honors from Hopewell High School and was a member of the National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, and National Thespian Society. In addition to my academic achievements at Hopewell I was a 4 year Varsity starter for our basketball team. While I dominated the power forward position for over 13 years in AAU, Showcase, and school athletics, I decided to utilize the leadership skills and the discipline learned to concentrate strictly on academics at UNCG. Threw out college i have maintained a strong GPA while being an active member of the V-day campaign and also my schools "Spead Integration" group. In the beginning of this school year, in August, I lost a close friend of mine unexpectedly and it took a toll on me emotionally. One thing I have tried to honor of my friend was to live life to the fullest, embrace change, and make the impossible possible. With that in mind I applied to study abroad in Spain Madrid and was accepted this past December. Because of the love and support from my support team (parents, sisters, and church family) I want to achieve greatness on a collegiate level and make not only them but myself proud. That's why I need your help! You can help me raise the $6500 needed to study abroad and I will be thankful no matter how much you give. I thank God for your willingness to even consider helping.
