Campaign Story
There's nothing I want more than to see my 10-year-old boy grow up. I want to make sure Yoyo has a happy and carefree childhood. He's been my guiding light through this painful journey and my love for him is what keeps me going. So, you can imagine how devastating it was to hear my son ask: "Mommy, are you sure you won't die? Please promise me you'll do the surgery!"
In June, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. The ultrasound and MRI images show spiculations and calcifications in the lesions, which means that they're malignant. I'm going to go through partial mastectomy. The doctors will determine a treatment plan for me after the surgery.
Last week, both me and my husband got laid off from our job. We worked for the same company that was forced to downsize. My husband is American and doesn't have a work permit in Bulgaria. He's also going to be my sole caregiver during this process.
Now, we're in dire need of help with my surgery fee, my medical bills and our day-to-day expenses.
I've been working non-stop for the past 15 years, and recently, it’s been especially challenging as I have carpal tunnel syndrome. This means that working on a computer for me is pure pain. I've always pushed through the pain because I would do anything to give my family what they need. But there comes a moment when you realize you just can't keep pushing yourself because if you continue, you'll fall apart. It's time for me to take care of myself.
My son, my wonderful boy, needs his mom. Looking into his eyes breaks my heart every time now, knowing that I might not be around him and see him grow.
With my partial mastectomy coming, as of writing, I have only $55 left in my savings. What I need now most of all is Rest: the opportunity to recover from my surgery, without scrambling to make ends meet and wondering how we're going to afford the next medical bill that comes our way.
Medical expenses I'm expecting:
MRI scan
Surgery
Pathology reports
Private consultations
Circulating tumor cells test in Anadolu Medical Center (Turkey)
CBC, LDH, CMP, ESR, hsCRP tests
Treatment and medication costs
Daily living expenses and rent
No donation is too small! If you can't afford a donation right now, please consider sharing this campaign to gain as much support as possible.
Please consider a recurring monthly donation. That would make my life much easier, especially if I have to go through chemotherapy or other treatments in the next few months.
And to everyone reading, sharing, and donating... Thank you so much!!
You fill my heart with gratitude
