Hi everyone, I'm Sie.

One month ago, I started a fundraiser for my family because of our problem with our land. I was trying to earn funds to pay for our debts and earn more funds to secure our land. Unfortunately, last Sunday, April 30, I was rushed into the emergency room because of an extreme pain in my lower abdomen. That was the first time I felt that pain. At first I thought it was dysmenorrhea since it happened to be the second day of my menstruation, so I was not alarmed. Days passed and the pain was on and off until the sixth day. It was so extreme that I cannot take it anymore. I was then rushed into the emergency room, which was April 30.

My mom was thinking maybe it had something to do with my eating pattern. Most of the time, I tend to skip meals or not eat on time, so we suspected ulcers or something similar. They did laboratory tests but found nothing. My blood and urine tests were found normal, so the doctor in the ER suggested doing an ultrasound to find out the cause of the pain. When the results came out, they found an ovarian cyst on my right and polycystic on my left. They said it's common for women, but why was it hurting so much? When we consulted the OB-GYN, she said I needed to undergo surgery as soon as possible. This is because the cyst on the right is now bigger than my uterus, it's now at 10cm, so my right ovary needs to be removed as early as we can since it is causing torsion already.

This is too sudden for me also. I was trying to make things work but suddenly I got sick. We went back and forth to the hospital to do further tests. I was scheduled to be admitted on May 4 and have the surgery on May 5. But a worse thing happened. May 4 at midnight, it was hurting so badly that I got rushed into the ER again. There they decided to have the surgery the same day because I was in so much pain. My right ovary was totally removed.

On May 7, I was scheduled to be discharged, but as we were struggling financially, we had a hard time. I was admitted to a private hospital hoping that my HMO could cover the expenses, but unfortunately it did not. Maybe it covered a bit but we still had to pay a big amount in the hospital. We also got a small deduction from Philhealth too. My mother had to borrow money (yes, another debt) for us to get out of the hospital. This is really frustrating because our financial struggle just keeps on getting worse.

Now, I have medicine to take every day for the next 3 months. It is too costly for us, since currently I have 3 meds to take every meal. I have vitamins and antibiotics included in the prescription. And yes, it is a big cut. Looks like I had a Caesarian section in my stomach.

So I am knocking on your generous hearts to please consider helping us if you can spare any amount. No amount is too small for us now, as we don't want to burden you too.

If you can help by sharing this around, it will help us too. Please help us with reaching more people to ease our situation.

Thank you so much and God bless you all.
