Mabini and Bonifacio are remote islands in Burdeos, Quezon Province facing the Pacific ocean which were also devastated by Typhoon Ulysses. Most of you do not probably know the existence of the islands since they were not covered by the Philippine media. Until now, there is no electricity and mobile network signal in the islands. Just because they did not have media coverage, it does not mean that they did not suffer from the typhoon’s devastation. Aside from local communities, the islands are also homes to the Dumagat indigenous community whose living environments were also lashed by the torrential waves, rains and strong winds.Together with our family and friends, we launched the donation and relief drive to help the local and indigenous communities in Mabini and Bonifacio.
In less than a month, it will be Christmas and what better way to express the spirit of the holidays by sharing and giving what we can to help the communities and rebuild the islands. Thank you very much for your generosity!
