Campaign Story
If you haven’t heard of Tyler Trent, just do a google search and you will find heartache and inspiration in every article written, every video made.
Tyler has battled cancer three times before the age of twenty, his first diagnosis at age 15. Tyler has osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer. The first diagnosis took part of his arm, the second, his hip and the third diagnosis found tumors in Tyler’s spine. He is currently in hospice care at home in Carmel, Indiana.
The thing about Tyler is, he keeps giving as much as this cancer is taking. He has created a support group, called Teens with a Cause, to help families with a family member fighting cancer get household chores done. He has participated in Purdue University’s Dance Marathon (which raises money and awareness for Riley Hospital for Children) even though he needed a crutch to get around, a result from surgery to replace his hip bone. Tyler became the first student member of Purdue University Center for Cancer Research’s Director’s Advancement Board, serving as an ambassador
to raise awareness for childhood cancer. He had been named honorary team captain for the Purdue University football team during the Hammer Down Cancer game and has been basically a phenomenon after Sports Center did a show on Tyler’s journey.
I became a fan of Tyler after watching the Sports Center show and have been following his journey on social media and having a few, brief, text exchanges.
Tyler has helped inspire so many through his unwavering faith and through raising money for cancer research, all while going through the fight of his own life.
Tyler has made a permanent impression on my heart and for that I want to try and give back.
Tyler’s medical bills weigh heavy on the Trent family. Please consider donating to Tyler and his family to offset their medical bills so that they can concentrate on taking care of Tyler and nothing more.
All donations will go directly to Tyler. If you haven't heard of Tyler and his story by now, well you should give it a look. Let's help Tyler, his family, and the progression of cancer research, so we can beat cancer altogether! #TylerStrong
