Campaign Story
Please help provide direct aid for people suffering in the war zones of Ukraine.
10 years ago I met Ihor Boldin from Ukraine when we organized a youth sports and football exchange in Munich with students from Ukraine, Poland and Germany. Ihor devoted his life to support neglected children and poor people in his home country. He also founded the Sports Club "Prestige" to help vulnerable youth through sports, and is involved in many other NGOs and charities.
Since the start of the war in February 2022, his selfless work was lifted to a new dimension. In the demolished cities and villages right on the front lines, his help is needed more than ever. Ihor and his co-workers are supporting the old, the sick and the young with food and necessities under often live-threatening conditions.
In the pictures, you can see what Ihor (first pic, white sweater) and his staff are doing in different cities. The photos are speaking for themselves. They are working day and night, and Ihor and his friends asked me if I could do anything to support them. Therefore, I am asking you to donate for the poor in war-torn Ukraine.
Here you will find a desciption of the current situation in Ihor's own words from just a week ago:
"Dear Robert Hahn!
On behalf of the public organization All-Ukrainian Sports Club "Prestige" we express our deep respect to you and in connection with the Russian aggression on the territory of Ukraine, we ask you to consider cooperation. Ukraine is now receiving less and less money and humanitarian aid. But Russia's aggression is not diminishing. There is a lot of destruction, and the saddest people are dying, and even more people and children are left crippled by injuries. People are already accustomed to artillery shelling, daily rocket strikes, constant airborne sirens that warn of the danger of an enemy plane or missile, and we no longer respond to them. This is how most people living outside the country got used to the war in Ukraine. The level of sympathy and assistance from Europe has markedly decreased since the first days. And the needs of Ukrainians are no less.
Our organization has extensive experience in providing humanitarian assistance in the territory of the military operation in eastern Ukraine, including the formation, distribution and distribution of food and humanitarian kits, the organization of volunteer groups, logistics. For 8 years, they held actions in support of the Peace in different parts of Ukraine and fed at the same time for children from Donbass per 1,000 people.
Now the situation in Ukraine is very critical. Through grant applications, we receive food and deliver it to the cities where the hostilities took place (are taking place) and help the civilian population. Authorities evacuated large numbers of orphans to western Ukraine from regions close to the Russian border, closer to the Polish border. We also take care of them. But there are costs for fuel, logistics, or personal needs of the team's volunteers, which we do not have at the moment and cannot solve on our own. [...]"
All donations go to a stand-alone PayPal account and will be transferred to the charity of Sports Club "Prestige". Thank you very much for your help!
