Help the Parrots at Wings of Love Bird Haven

Wings of Love Bird Haven, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit parrot rescue that has been operating since 2003. We became nonprofit status in 2005. We take in parrots that no longer can stay in their homes for various reasons, rehabilitate them and then find them a new family to love and care for them. 

Please help us raise the funds to build a new building to help with the over-crowded conditions at  the Haven. If each person receiving this newsletter would 1) make a donation and 2) share this with friends, family and co-workers then in no time at all we could have the building we need. Please don't wait to help. Our "groundbreaking" is projected to begin in May so we really need to start getting the funds in as quickly as possible.

I'd like to take a moment to put into perspective just how important your donations are to us. Every single dollar counts. While all of these funds will go toward the building of this building, it is easier for me to explain the value by showing you things we need/buy on a regular basis. By just forgoing that one cup of Java a day for one month (30.00) and donating that 1.00 back to the Haven you can buy enough fresh veggies and fruit to feed our entire flock for about 5 days. 10.00 a day for 1 month (300.00) is enough (on an average) to pay for the electricity we use to care for the birds for an entire month.  You might be thinking "I can't even afford that much.. that's OK. Even a one time donation of 5.00 adds up too. Don't ever think that your gift is not important. Every dollar counts. 

Please realize that ALL FUNDS coming to us through this fundraising effort will go directly to the new building process. If there are funds left over then they will go to help pay the ongoing cost of vet bills and/or needed expenses such as food, utilities, etc. Our organization is an ALL VOLUNTEER facility with the exception of paying for things in the way of care, maintence and repairs that we can't find a volunteer knowledgable to do. We do however do all we can to get as much as possible done with volunteers so that the funds we receive are used as wisely as possible. Even the new building will be done utilizing as much "volunteer help" as we can. We are all about spending the money that comes in for the birds as wisely as we can.  

Another thing to keep in mind... many of you work for a company that makes "matching grants" to nonprofit organizations that their workers donate to. Please remember this when you make your donation and be sure to let us know how to fill out the paperwork so that we can receive this matching grant. There is a list of some of the major companies on our website that do matching grants if you want to check to see if your workplace participates in this. There are others not on the list so be sure and check with your employer to see if they participate.

Also, if you are already planning on making a sizeable donation to the Haven- why not consider making it as a "matching grant" offer. Just let us know the amount you want to donate and we will put up an incentive to other viewers that might be willing to donate if thier  funds are doubled.

So for example... suppose you are willing to donate UP TO 250.00. We would post a notice on our website, the gogetfunding site as well as facebook, twitter and others about your matching grant proposal. We would put up a time frame and state that all funds that are donated during that time frame (up to 250.00) would be matched. This is just one more way to get more people to make donations to this worthy cause.
