Help the locals of a small tourist dependant town on the coast of Ecuador

To those of you who have been to this small beach town of Montanita, you understand when we say there is an indescribable magic that exists here. Many of you have booked a hostal for one night and stayed a week, a month or maybe even three. And then there are those who have come back year after year or picked up and moved here permanently, deciding this was the perfect place to call home.

As most of you know, we own a small hostal and yoga studio here on the beach. And it is because of our amazing guests who chose to stay with us this high season, that we are able to continue paying our staff as we move through these hard times. They're our family and we will take care of them for as long as it is necessary. However, as this situation continues, Juanito and Wendy have asked us to ask you for a little bit of help. So this is why we are here. We have been in quarantine now for just over 7 weeks and with no end in sight, there is a growing concern for their immediate and extended families as well as their friends and this entire community.

And so, this campaign is to help all the locals that made your experience in Montanita an unforgettable one. This is for them. The vendors on the beach offering a cold coconut when you wanted one and a beach umbrella when you needed one. The taxi drivers who got you to your new destination and the bus drivers who took you to your new adventure. The restaurants who kept you fed with delicious food and the cocktail makers who kept you entertained with delicious drinks. The list of small businesses, self employed people, and all those in between, goes on and on. And they all played a role in you falling in love with Montanita. Just like we did.

Unlike first world nations, the government here has provided people with only a very small emergency benefit that does not meet the needs of an individual. Even the smallest donation can make a difference! The money raised here will provide food, medicine and whatever else is needed in Montanita and the surrounding towns.
