Help the Horses

Hungry Horse Outside is a small horse rescue centre based in the Midlands of Ireland. We primarily rescue horses/ ponies and donkeys however we have on occasion being known to have the odd dog, cat, goat or even pig come into our care. Basically if there is an animal in need we will do our very best to help them.

Last year across Ireland, thousands of horses were left without food, shelter or basic care, leading to starvation, abandonment and sadly many deaths.

It saddens us that such neglect has made the front page of "The New York Times". Unfortunately the value of horses has declined, many are virtually worthless, for the farmer they are not worth feeding, for Celtic Tiger Racing Syndicates, the horses that gave it their all are on death row. Many people are struggling to keep a roof over their heads and simply cannot afford to look after their much loved pony anymore.

Hungry Horse Outside, help as many of these animals as they can, unfortunately we do not receive government funding so finances are limited. We not only rescue these horses but we spend collossal amounts of money on their rehabilitation, therefore giving them a greater chance of a bright future. It costs roughly €1800 a month to just buy hay for the horses in our care. I know its a big ask but please please please consider donating even a small amount to our cause. We are an entirely voluntary organisation who work 24 hours a day, Your money will go directly to improving the welfare of the animals, buying hay, grain, straw, rugs, veterinary treatment, dental treatment and rehabilitation.
