Friends,

There are thousands of homeless, abused and neglected animals on the streets of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately, for many of these animals they meet with a violent death at the hands of man. There is no organized humane society. The "animal control" here does nothing to help finds these beautiful creatures a home - instead they are injected with a medication that paralyzes their breathing, leaving these dogs and cats awake but unable to breath and then are thrown into garbage bags and taken to the dump. Sometimes the animal dies from lack of oxygen from being paralyzed, other times an inadequate dose is was administered and when it wears off the dog suffocates inside the garbage bag under piles of trash.

The GOOD NEWS is there ARE volunteer rescue groups to help these dogs and cats get placed in to foster homes and adopted out to pet lovers. These groups do as much good as possible with very little money - they are funded out of pocket by the group organizers. They stretch their limited funds (again these groups are funded out of the organizer's pocket) as much possible providing vaccinations, spaying/neutering and food for these animals while they are living in kennels or foster care.

I have set up this fundraiser to raise money to provide some support to these volunteer rescue groups. If it weren't for a group like Open Paws, my 4-legged friend Oscar would have been left to die in the desert.

Every donation countys! I will personally match every donation the is received dollar for dollar so that more of these animals can receive the medical care, nourishment and LOVING home that they deserve.
