Campaign Story
12 years ago our family, consisting of an Irishman, his wife,mother-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, relocated to a small farm on the edge of the Karoo. Our aim was to help financially challenged individuals , by providing a safe haven, to recover from addictions, difficult environments and bad life choices and to re-integrate into society. We have assisted numerous addicts, predominantly men, over the past 11 years but have felt the call to focus on vulnerable women and children going forward. A pressing need is to put in more infrastructure to make areas secure for children to live and play..
During lockdown we were able to help local labourers' children with their schoolwork and continue to assist with homework when needed.
We try to be as self-sufficient as possible by growing our own food and keeping a few animals for milk, eggs, meat and therapy. We have been mainly self-funded and had the help of a few wonderful donors but a long period of drought and health issues have put a severe strain on our finances and water supply.
We are appealing for funds to enable us to continue our mission, to survive and thrive.
Thank you
