£85.00raised of £10,000.00 goal goal
We are raising funds to promote and run action day so we can reach as many people as we can. We need to be able target advertising, acquire awareness ribbons, we need to raise funds to support families legally for a Judicial Review. You have read the stories that have come to us for support as a campaign, they have then been reported through the media. Here is a quick recap of those stories:
"Mother fights fine over son's last holiday"
"Mother defies gag on school holiday row"
"Disabled mother fined£120 for taking her child on holiday during term-time"
"Captains family joins mutiny on school holidays"
As well as many more.....Many family lives are made a misery over opportunities that they have been given which should be wonderful. For example, a wedding abroad, supporting family members at sporting events representing their country, winning a competition, a once in a lifetime trip. Many families are also made to feel even more stressed in times of great suffering, For example, a funeral, or memorial , family tragedy, family member suffering cancer, end of life situation. You would think, with the guidlines released from the NAHT, the situation would have improved, but what one Head Teacher's idea of "Exceptional"
is, is far different to another Head Teacher's definition. It has become a post code lottery and the policy is unfit for purpose.
Will you help?
Will you help us challenge this policy and get it overturned?
Will you help make Action Day a success?

I can't do much, but I hope this helps. I would never take my children out of school lightly and not just for a cheaper holdiay. However, I object that my right to do so as a parent has been taken away.

Tell the Government to stop assuming every Parent is incompetent to determine the education and well-being of their child. Let the Parent's decide!
