Hi everyone, we are project Agri-BIDA. We are a group of multi-cultural volunteers in Davao City, Philippines. We aim to develop marginalized communities, generate awareness and initiative that address local issues affecting marginalized people in Davao City.

Project Agri-BIDA was founded by AIESEC Davao, which is a part of AIESEC, the world's largest non-profit youth-run organization. It is an international non-governmental not-for-profit organization that provides young people with leadership development and cross-cultural global internship and volunteer exchange experiences across the globe, with a focus to empower young people so they can make a positive impact on society by obtaining Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs). SDGs are officially known as Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a set of 17 "Global Goals" introduced by the United Nations. Project Agribida is categorized as SDG #1 No Poverty (the target of which is: by 2030, ensure that all men and women, in particular the poor and the vulnerable, have equal rights to economic resources, as well as access to basic services, ownership and control over land and other forms of property, inheritance, natural resources, appropriate new technology and financial services, including microfinance).

This project cooperates with local partner, which is Barangay Mintal. Barangay Mintal is an active community in Davao City. This district council has partnered with AIESEC to firstly address and resolve problems in the community (Project Agri-BIDA); secondly research and educate people form underdeveloped areas to become aware of HIV/AIDS or STDs (Project STanD) and help juvenile delinquents - children and adolescents to re-integrate back to society (Project Kabatan-on); and finally, raise awareness on the need of quality education (Project Smileville).

Project Agri-BIDA has been raising funds to resolve problems in the community for the past few years. We have been able to improve the infrastructure (roads and bridges). For this year, from July 10th to August 21st, 2017, our main objective is to raise funds to develop community in Purok 19.

Purok 19 is a small community in Barangay Mintal, Tugbok District, Davao City. It is quite far from downtown and the road to reach Purok 19 is rocky and muddy. When we conducted the survey to the people there, we found out there were often floods, especially in the rainy season and the bridge that connects the community is not passable. Moreover the bridge is the only access to the city for the people in the community. We are planning to build a temporary bridge so that people in the community can have access to the city and so that the kids can travel safely during the rainy season. The total cost to build a bridge is $1400. We are callling for your donation so that we can build the bridge for the people in Purok 19.

We set a goal of $1400 only as a benchmark because for us, every donation is appreciated and can make a positive impact to the community. Any donations you make will proceed to Barangay Mintal and the community.

Thank You!
