*Help Us Save Our Mom As She Combats Covid*

If you ask us about our mom Tess we, her three children, would describe her as strong, driven and confident in her abilities to face any challenges head on. However, those qualities that we admire most about our mom are now being tested.

Our mom is currently struggling with her battle against the dreadful virus. At the beginning, her symptoms were mild. Self-medication using prescribed medicines and vitamins, isolation and remote consultation from doctors seem to be working. However, days after, her body started to weaken. Her fight against Covid has begun:

* Day 1 of Medication: She successfully brought her fever down until it was non-existent.

* Day 2 of Medication: Her sense of taste and smell returned. Her cough, however, worsened to the point that she started having difficulty in breathing.

* Day 5 of Medication: Mom struggled to breathe even more. Her oxygen level continued to decrease. We knew by then that it was time to call an ambulance to take her to a hospital. It was a difficult decision to make as a family as we knew we were risking our mom of getting exposed to a more serious strain.

Our mother, Tess, is currently admitted in The Medical City at South Luzon, the only hospital that accomodated her at her time of urgent need. We’ve all heard stories on how hospitals seem to always be full and are placing patients on wait lists — we can assure you, those horrific stories stay true to this day.

Mom’s bravery in this battle comes at a price.

My brothers, JP and Earl, and I are knocking on your kind hearts to provide any support you can as we raise funds to help our mom combat Covid. While the three of us are not exempted from financial responsibilities and crisis, we know that our mom’s welfare is priceless and our top priority. And with rooted humility, we will admit that we can use all the financial support we can get from your generosity.

Mom is currently fighting critical pneumonia, continued difficulty in breathing, struggling to nourish her body with food through nasal tubes and loneliness as the virus has a way of making you feel all alone. But with the love of her family, encouragement from friends and her faith in the Almighty, she is trying very hard to keep strong. She is quite far from being out of the woods. We hope that your light and support will guide her to her journey of recovery soon.
