Help Tening fight stomach cancer

My Mother, Tening, 71 years old, worked for one of the government agencies in the Philippines for 43 years and has been retired since 2012. After retirement, she gets her main source of income from her GSIS pension which she also shares with my father who is also a retired OFW but with no pension and no regular income. My mom’s pension is just enough to cover hers and my father’s basic needs and maintenance medicines.

Last September 2018, with heavy heart, we learned that my mother has stomach cancer. She is the bravest person I know and with overwhelming faith, for when I told her the news about the result of her biopsy, her answer was - “I am not scared. With prayer and God’s help I can handle it.. There is so much to be thankful for, because for 71 years, God gave me good health to enjoy and this is only the first time that i would be faced with a major illness....”

My mom went through total gastrectomy surgery (removal of whole stomach) last October 2018 wherein we learned that tumor is already stage 3. Chemotherapy came in a month after. She will be having 12 sessions of chemotherapy and 30 sessions of radiation therapy. We just finished 5th session of Chemotherapy last February, and fortunately, she is not experiencing those unwanted side effects (hair loss, vomiting, etc). However our funds are already depleted and we still have a long way to go.

We are only 2 siblings and the expensive cancer treatments and diagnostics is already taking toll on our funds.. My mom is a fighter and she is not worried about the treatments, but she is worried about the finances and as a mother she is worried about me and my sister. Completing the treatments is her best chance to beat cancer and because we love her dearly, we will do everything to get much needed resources.

Our family is humbly knocking on your kind hearts if you could spare some assistance to help us continue my mom’s treatment. No amount is small and we will forever be grateful.
