2020 - Thinking back, this was the year that was so far in the future that none of us ever thought it would come &, now that it has, many of us wish it never did. It’s fair to say that this has been an extremely difficult year for everyone but more so for some than others.

Tamara, who has recently been diagnosed with Lupus, is one of the few facing more extreme conditions & tests in terms of her health, pain management & financial requirements that do not let up - She needs our help today!

If you are lucky enough to know Tamara, as we do, you would know her as an out going, bubbly, extremely friendly & caring person with the biggest heart & an even bigger smile despite what she is going through at this time. I’ve attached some photos from before the condition came to the forefront as well as some from after to better illustrate what she has been going through. Its almost impossible to explain the pain that Tamara is suffering as her own body attacks & dismantles her own tissue, her own skin & her organs, indiscriminately, continuously & with out warning.

Whilst she is currently still able to go on in terms of emotional wellbeing & physical strength, which we commend her for & recognize her as a Lupus Warrior, she is not able to cope at this time financially due to the extremely high cost of health care in her home country South Africa.

Whilst this is a country seen as a tourist hub & destination, the fact is that cost of living is exorbitantly high in comparison to income, which she has recently been unable to generate due to her condition & the recent failure of her laptop she’d was using, when she could, to generate as much income as possible during this time, with out the possibility of going to a work place which simply isn’t possible in her condition.

The odds are not stacked in her favor, yet she continues to smile, she continues to fight & she continues to be an inspiration to all of us in the face of adversity each & every single day.

Little is known about the cause & the exact prognosis of her condition due to Lupus being based in the auto immune realm of medicine – each patient responds differently to a multitude of treatments which can range from steroid therapy, extreme pain management & even chemo therapy which will lead the patient to become worse before they become better.

The idea of the treatment is to suppress the immune system to the point that it is no longer responding to the internal “threat” & ceases destroying its own tissue in a bid to reset the system & allow it to return to normal operation again in the future, yet this is a fine balancing act not to break the patient’s system down beyond the point of being able to protect her body from basic infections, bacteria & viruses our bodies encounter each & every single day.

We ask that, if you are able to contribute at all to help Tamara with her current situation to seek treatment & pain relief that you click the link below to contribute what you can.

Every donation goes a long way & together, every donation, no matter how big or small, helps to contribute to the help we can collectively provide in her search for solace from pain & suffering.

Thank you for your time & your donation as well as your thoughts & prayers during this trying time. We will keep you updated as this campaign moves forward!
