Campaign Story
It is with deep sorrow that Sweetie has succumbed to the cancer on 22 February 2019, 1350hrs. Sweetie has not been eating on her own and will throw up when we syringe feed her. We sent her to the vet today. Unfortunately she left for the rainbow bridge. She is now free of pain.
We are very grateful for your great kindness towards her for making this home care possible. She is loved and taken care in a home environment.
Update 15/2/19
Sweetie eats the kibble on her own and some wet food. Had syringe her more wet food to ensure she is eating enough.. also given some supplement to help her. Sweetie breaths/sleeps better when her head is slightly elevated.
Update: 10/2/19
Sweetie is chilled and has been feeling relaxed at the boarding place. She is eating a little. Will buy more variety of food for her to try and see if she has a preference.
Update 9/2/19
Sweetie was trapped and sent to the vet today. The prognosis is not good. For Sweetie, without a biopsy, best guess would be a cancer. Some cancers can be managed with chemo. For others, chemo does not work. There is loss of bone on the lateral x-ray of the head and something growing and protruding into the left side of the oral cavity at the roof. The lump is aspriated and only got bloody fluid, mostly it is not an abcess. There are some unusual cells together with lots of red blood cells, neutrophils and some bacteria. Sweetie is dehydrated with lower rectal temp than normal. Unfortunately to make the situation worst, Sweetie is Felv postitive and has a low pcv of 20%. She is given antibiotics at the moment. At the moment, palliative care is deemed to be a safe approach now.
The boarding will be a Long time commitment . We hope to raise as much as possible and to let her live as comfy as she can till her last breath. And we might need another review to see if she need steroid or chemo med for her lump.

9/2/19 Trapping fee $130

*********************************************
Sweetie has been a resident at a condo compound for many years, a familiar face to many. She gets by with scraps that she receives from neighbours but nobody thought of giving her a warm bed to seek refuge at night.
CNY day 1, we were notified by a kind resident that Sweetie wasn’t quite herself anymore, she’s tired, she has lost weight. Her facial features have also changed drastically. It’s cancer, we think and most certainly, nose cancer.
Now, we know that cancer is a one way ticket for most animals, medical advancements for curing cancer in animals have not had much of a break through unlike for humans. Those who managed to escape its clutches are far and few between.
To PTS or to give Sweetie a shot at beating cancer? We know this is a prickly topic among pet lovers but our motto has always been pro-life. Haru the lymphoma cat was given a chance to fight and fought like a lion he did and the battle won.
We would like the same for Sweetie. We like to think that we can beat the odds, come out triumphant against cancer so we are imploring for funds for Sweetie, to fight alongside with her, this debilitating disease. She is but a stray cat but she is most definitely worthy of our help.
The first step is to get her to the vet first to test for FIV/ FELV before we proceed to do a biopsy of the lump. The future is uncertain but it is a promise that we are making, to make Sweetie as comfortable as possible.
Would you help us help her?
