My name is Ashley Blantinah Kagande. I am an aspiring fashion designer born and raised in Zimbabwe. In 2018, I got into an accident and broke my leg, which gave me challenges throughout my completely senior year, and it almost hindered me from writing my final examinations in the same year. However, that did not deter me from working hard to lay a good foundation for myself. I wrote my Advanced Level examinations and I exceeded the expectations of many by producing sound academic results. Afterwards, I got an opportunity to study at the prestigious LISOF Fashion School as well as Nelson Mandela University in pursuit of my fashion degree. However, because of my unfavourable financial circumstance, I am not able to pay the tuition; therefore, I cannot claim my place at these esteemed universities. Despite this setback, I have not lost hope. I tried obtaining bursaries through South African Universities and other bursary foundations to no avail, mainly because I am not a South African citizen. Thus, I am appealing to you for assistance in raising funds in order to fulfil my dream of protecting the girl child that is being abused in the fashion industry, helping those who are also discouraged to pursue a dream in the fashion industry in my country and worldwide and spreading knowledge about the amazing language of fashion.
Thank you so much for your attention and your kindness.
