Campaign Story
Dear Fabulous Flowers Customers and Friends
I hope you and your families are well and safe. I hope too that you are finding creative and fun ways to get through the next three weeks.
I realise that everyone has a story and none are more important than others. Everyone deals with sadness, loss and frightening situations in their lifetime. Some situations are worse than others but somehow we manage to get through by faith and sheer determination. Right now however, it feels as though my hands are tied. I know that I am not the only one who is wondering how they are going to make ends meet and keep their doors open. The impact of Covid-19 is particularly hard for small retail operators who don’t have huge reserves and work to pay their rent, their staff and suppliers.
I find myself in a situation where I need help. I learnt, long ago, what it is like to swallow your pride and ask for assistance. It was very difficult for me as a fiercely private and resourceful person then, and it is no easier now. But, I need to. Not only for me but my staff, who rely on me heavily for their income and support in their daily lives. I support seven families as well as part time florists and drivers who also reply on the work I can provide them with.
Our business has become a safe haven for them and many others over the years. I have created a loving and gentle environment wherever we have traded from and particularly now in our beautiful space. We are at risk of losing all that with no income and customers who we have worked with for years refusing to pay us for large functions done in the past few weeks.
This is the reason we have created this campaign. I ask you, from the bottom of my heart to help us to keep trading when all this is over. We pledge to always give you the best service and the most beautiful flower arrangements and gift boxes. We would be so grateful.
We appeal to you to please either donate to assist us in getting through this time or to please purchase from our online store which we will deliver after the 17th April. Order through www.fabulousflowers.co.za
For every donation received we will share half the value with the Solidarity Fund www.solidarityfund.co.za so that other small businesses around our beautiful country can be assisted as well. For every order placed after the 17th we will add a small gift of gratitude that we will send along to your recipient.
We look forward to being in a thriving position to continue to create for you.
Yours sincerely,
Josie van Aswegen

You delivered flowers for my daughters and always so lovely! I don't live in Cape Town, and your Joy in a Jar flowers are always great for a surprise on their birthdays. I will keep ordering from you. Stay strong during this difficult period. Blessings, Andrea x
