Campaign Story
Mother At Risk-Africa with funding from the International Rotary Foundation through Rotary Club of Montreal is to implement a project to rehabilitate Sambuko gravity flow scheme which was constructed way back in 1984 to improve water and sanitation in the two sub-counties of Bumalimba, Bukise, Bumulisha in Sironko and Buyaga in Bulambuli districts of Eastern Uganda. This scheme which had broken structures is hoped to relive benefiting community from the regular cholera outbreak and dysentery. This however, will not completely solve water and sanitation problems as Sambuko scheme covers a smaller percentage of our targeted communities. They are still broken water systems that require construction and rehabilitation so that all community members can have clean and safe drinking water. This project will help to rehabilitate the old Sambuko gravitational water flow system by replacing old water pipes with new ones as well as constructing new water collection points to serve areas that has no water
