Key Fact

Agriculture remains Nepal’s principal economic activity, employing about 65% of the population and

providing 31.7% of GDP.

About the Partnership

Located on the soil of its eponymous town in Nepal, Dhulikhel Hospital’s Department of Community

Programs opened its doors in 2006 to provide quality health care services to rural and disadvantaged

communities across the country. At its core, the hospital strives to be a paragon of social equity,

sustainable development, and innovation through excellence in service and collaboration with both

the government and other stakeholders within the healthcare sphere. In addition to being a health

care provider, Dhulikhel Hospital emphasizes community development, rigorous research, and

international collaboration. All of these qualities are the foundation of a natural partnership

between Dhulikhel Hospital and GlobeMed at Berkeley.
