Zoe & Gordon Perera live in Hove, East Sussex and are the proud parents of two beautiful young children... Amalie 5 and Louis 3. They had big plans for their little family and now that’s all been taken away by a cruel disease!
At the beginning of 2018 Gordon (40) was diagnosed as having a progressive upper form of Motor Neurons Disease and for anyone who knows this disease it truly is a heartbreaking diagnosis! The family really don’t know how much longer he has but want to live life in the moment as much as they can. Gordon has such a wonderful Buddhist way of life and is taking this amazingly well but deep down it’s breaking his heart that he will soon have to leave his beautiful family

One of the biggest mistakes Zoe feels they made was not having life insurance and now the reality of what they face is really weighing on her mind. At the moment Gordon is still working as a teacher but will soon lose that income and will be living off the state. They have a big mortgage on their house and Zoe will not be able to go back to work when she becomes his full time carer either so she is worried about losing the house on top of the grief of knowing she will lose the love of her life soon. She is also worried about how she will cope financially as a widow with two young children once he has gone.
I met Zoe at the school our children go to a year ago and we have already esblished a really beautiful friendship... I can truly say I’m blessed to have met this lovely family now as they are and will be there to support Zoe and the kids in the future. I really felt compelled to start funding page to give Zoe and her family some peace of mind while she cares for him and to take the burden of her off her financially.
Anything you can give to help this family is gratefully received.
