**WE ARE CURRENTLY FUNDRAISING FOR OUR LAST TRIP OF 2019, A SHORT VISIT TOO CATCH UP WITH PROJECTS IN ATHENS, VISIT A CAMP THAT CHILDREN HAVE BEEN EVICTED TOO AND RUN A WORKSHOP FOR THE CHILDREN WE KNOW WHO HAVE STAYED IN ATHENS**

Artists in Transit is a collaborative arts project aimed at delivering creative workshops to communities and people in times of hardship. Our ethos is one of solidarity and self-organisation.

We were founded in 2016 after some of us had spent some time volunteering in Kos during the peak of the refugee crisis in 2015. Since then we have returned to Greece to show solidarity with refugees through art.

Since our first trip we have worked with Project Elea (a camp) , a squatted airport, a centre for unaccompanied minors, City Plaza Hotel, 5th school squat, 2nd school squat, 5th school squat ,Mosaico House and Clandestina squat. Over this time we have delivered over 100 workshops covering sewing, doll making, painting ,photography, printing, zine sheeting, drawing from still life, painting , crafting, music , green screen , mask making and more!

CAN YOU HELP US CONTINUE OUR WORK IN 2019?

For our fourth year we are hoping to deliver even more workshops and continue to work with children, families, young people and adults in Athens. There are thousands of children and adults living all over Athens in various conditions. Having experienced traumatic journey’s facing dire conditions we believe our workshops really help break up the monotony of day to day life and bring a smile to many faces.

  • I have two young children who love art. In another time and place they could so easily be the children I am making my donation in aid of.
