Help Support Anthony in Funds for a Private Lawyer

This is a petition to help aid in funds for the best possible private criminal defense lawyer to support Anthony Calco.

As many of you know, Anthony is in a California holding facility. Without the means of retaining a private attorney, Anthony is being represented at this time by a Public Defender. He has been incarcerated for 1 year and 5 months. He has not been sentenced to any specific time yet, but he is very close.

On friday, January 20th, Anthony went to his arraignment. His lawyer informed him beforehand that the District Attorney would likely offer him another deal, but this time the deal would be something like 10-13 years. Anthony decided, despite all of his efforts in fighting the justice system for just a chance of freedom, that he would accept this plea offer. Unfortunately, his Public Defender was wrong.... very wrong. The district attorney offered Anthony a plea bargain of 25 years in prison. Obviously he was very shocked and declined the offer. What does this mean now? This means that he is potentially going to trial for this case. He could get sentenced for the maximum amount of time in a trial case (which is something crazy like 75 years to life if I'm not mistaken). So, as you can see, the situation has become very serious. Anthony has spoken to some close family and friends about his thoughts and what he needs. He is very sad and depressed right now and he says that all he wants is proper representation. He wants a lawyer that believes in him and that can help him win this case. To no surprise, the justice system in the U.S is very corrupt and unjust. You are guilty until proven innocent. But I know that this man, my brother, deserves a real future. He has always been a light and a huge support in my life. I will move mountains to help Anthony, but I know that I don't have the strength to do this alone. I need your help.

I know many of you have been aware of this situation for a long time, and you have all helped so much by sending your prayers, askings, and best wishes to Anthony, my family, and myself. I am very grateful for all of your love and support. But now, I am asking publicly, with everything that I have, if you could spare even a dollar to help Anthony so that he might obtain a private lawyer, your support would be immensely useful and deeply appreciated.

Anthony continues to lift us up with his positivity, and he continues to learn and grow while fighting through this process.
