There is Good News! (Romans 12:12)

Our dad's journey with cancer began in march 2020 when he called complaining about his back pain and that he cannot move or sit for a week. Knowing our dad, we immediately convinced him to visit a doctor and begged him to do so. For 35 years, I never heard him complain about any pain despite all his hard work. He is a father who will take any job to make a living. He was saying it could just be some pain due to hard work because he remembers helping some old guys carry a pig for on a wake they attended. After too many encouragements and attempts, he agreed to visit the doctor. We were in shock when the doctor came and said we will have to wait for a hematologist and that he thinks it is cancer. Immediately, they required series of extensive tests and scans confirmed a diagnosis of multiple myeloma, a blood cancer rarely found in men. We were told that some may last months, some years, or even 5 years depending on how their body responds to treatment. In August 2020, he started his treatment which consists of a weekly bone and monthly chemotherapy treatment along with his daily maintenance medicines and supplements. His monthly therapy costs up to P68,000 pesos ($1400+) and his home meds cost up to P16,000 ($350) monthly. I and my siblings tried and are continuously trying to work multiple jobs to provide for his medical needs and we thank God for giving us the opportunities and strength to work.

Our hope is that our dad's body will respond fully to treatment. While grateful, we know that believing would cause a financial drain but we are continuously praying our faith will remain. And YES, our prayers are being answered. Today, June 7, 2021 we received a message from the doctor saying they received the recent biopsy results and that 50% of his cancer cells are gone. According to the doctor, we will have to continue with his weekly bone therapy and monthly chemotherapy. This is such great news, we are really financially drained and worried for his continuous treatment but we are confident that God will provide and that with your good hearts he will be healed. We are confident that he can spend more years with us and his grandchildren.

We trust that God is with us and we praise Him for dad and our family's steadfast faith. Please pray with us for the continued grace to stand firm on God’s promises, and please consider partnering with us financially to help shoulder the burden of this most difficult season.

From our family to yours: we can’t thank you enough for your love and support. God bless you!
