The Accident

In May 2013, at the age of 23, Suhai was involved in a motorbike accident on his way to work. He was coming across a T-Junction and was hit by a car from the side.

His left leg was badly damaged and required extensive medical treatment.

Some issues arose and the hospital report went missing. This resulted in complications and a different procedure from what he was originally promised. He now struggles to walk and is unable put pressure on his leg for any period of time.

He is in constant pain whilst walking (although he will not openly admit it). A few times he has said “ I wish I could run and not be a burden to the workforce”. He will never be a burden to the workforce but he does require this operation for a better quality of life.

About Suhai

He is the eldest of 6. Two of his siblings are still in school and due to his father’s ill health he is supporting them through school. His wife does not have the best health but she is still working. He is under a lot of pressure to support the family around him.

He has a heart of gold. He is very kind, loving and one of the best individuals you will come across. Quite often he would be the first to ask if there is anything that needs to be done or the first to fetch a tool if it is needed. He will always help other people and put their health before his own, even when he is struggling. He is truly deserving of any help that can be provided.

The Operation

The operation would be to straighten the tibia and insert a metal pin in to the fibula. He would require bone grafts to bridge the gap in the bone.

The doctors have told him he is unlikely be walking by the end of the year without the operation.

The full recovery time will most likely be 3-6 months.

Costing

From the local hospital it would cost around RM15,000. For a private specialist it would be in the region of RM60,000 plus another RM15,00 should one of the operations fails.

With the additional money that is raised, we would like to support him and his family during his recovery period. This could be in region another RM9,000
