HELP A HOMELESS STREET DOG GET A HOME

Hi, my name is Joseph Erinle and I am asking for help from all those who care about dogs and pets to support my campaign to create a home for homeless street dogs.

I have three dogs, Potter , Granger and Richshe and Richshe happens to be the latest in our family. My wife and I had to buy richshe because she was the only one left out of the 6 puppies her mother delivered and since no one was coming to get her, the owner was contemplating selling her to dog eaters which we kicked against, hence, my wife and I had to buy Richshe on the spot with our food money to rescue her from being killed.

It would be quite startling to let you know that here in Nigeria, there is no public kennel or home for street dogs. This makes dog eaters to have access to dogs wandering and loitering about as free meat for them to eat.

I have been a lover of dog ever since i was a young boy and i became more addicted to them when i was alone and no one to help, i found solace and intimate friendship with my two little dogs and am so happy that my spouse whom am getting married to in next few months also loves dogs more than i could think of. She is not working though, but she finds joy and excitement training and playing with the dogs and also grooming them and we are trying our best to set up a competition where dog owners in the country can bring their dogs and get rewards for good grooming and training.

The major challenge now is that, our accommodation is not spacious to gather all the homeless dogs without owners that we can find in the neighborhood to accommodate and train and give a sense of belonging there by adding value to these dogs and making the society feel safe from seeing them as a potential threat and killing them.

Our major task is to get a piece of land which we have already scouted for in a good environment and also , construction of house, kennels and a mini bus to pick the dogs and also fetch their foods. We already have some veterinary doctors that promised to provide us with support for vaccination and also our lawyer is already doing all the necessary legal work that would grant us full support from the local and state government to carry out homeless dog pick-up services and training.

All the above is expected to be completed within two months only if we can get financial support to get the piece of land well fenced around and pick-up vehicle well branded to commence operation. Other logistics such as staff, cooking and feeding as well as health care will all be gradually sorted out. We are currently looking at starting with a minimum of 50 dogs and also planning for expansion as soon as possible.

We have taken it as a responsibility to begin with whatever we can get as the homeless street dogs procreate, they increase in population in the streets and dog eaters hunt them down to reduce their population as they kept giving excuses that they dont belong to anyone and that the dogs are dangerous to children sent on errands on the street who sometimes get attacked by these dogs some of which have rabbis. We cant really prosecute these dog eaters as the society seem not to really care as they see their nefarious and barbaric activities as protection for their wards and children in disguise. We would be glad if we can get support to begin this project and make a positive impact . We would appreciate every single amount contributed which will be used judiciously for the aforementioned project to KEEP HOMELESS STREET DOGS A HOME AND A SENSE OF BELONGING. Thank you all.
