Help Stephanie Garcia!!!

I believe in the goodness of people and that is the reason why I'm starting this campaign.

I met Stephanie Garcia and her mother, Ana, 5 years ago when I first moved to California. Ana was referred to me to help me with my house.
Stephanie used to come to our house with her mom all the time and was a smart, fun little girl with a bright personality.
I received a call 2 weeks ago from Ana to let me know that she couldn't work that week because Stephanie was sick. She was admitted to the hospital after several weeks of not feeling well. That is when her nightmare started.

After enduring weeks of testing, they finally revealed a diagnosis yesterday. Stephanie has a rare disease called NMDA-Receptor Antibody Encephalitis. This autoimmune condition causes the body to produce a protein that attacks the neuro receptors known as NMDA, causing severe neurological deficits. As of today, Stephanie is not able to walk, talk, or use her right hand and she has a long road of recovery ahead of her.

Ana has been by her side day and night. That is what we do as mothers; however Ana is a self-employed single mother and has not been able to work since Stephanie got sick.

I want to reach out to my friends and see if we can contribute to decrease Ana's level of stress by collecting some money to help her with her expenses.

We also need all the prayers and positive thoughts that you can send their way to make sure this sweet girl gets back to her old self.

Stephanie's birthday is next Monday and I would love to surprise Ana with the donations to make that day more enjoyable.
