With the proliferation of small 5MW solar sites and wind turbine sites in the UK, the opportunities to use drones as a force for change in the renewable energy business are expanding. In the south west of England alone there are over 10 different companies operating and opening over 100 solar power generation sites.

These sites are usually in rural areas and inspection can be a time consuming factor. This is where my project comes in. With the use of drones, inspection times can be drastically cut down which enables multiple inspections per day.

This is a new project and my first which I am really excited about! The funds raised will allow me to purchase a DJI Inspire 1, Zenmuse XT thermal camera, spare batteries and allow me to attend a flight school to qualify for a CAA licence.
