Teenage pregnancies are on the rise in Kenya and the percentage of young girls out there struggling to raise kids on their own after the would be fathers failed to take responsibility is on the rise. Most of these girls have to depend on their parents who also do not have the financial strength to help raise both their children and their grandchildren. As a result, these young mothers have to quit school and are introduced to a world of struggles, pain, and poverty with no way out.
Hair and beauty industry is a rapidly growing industry in Kenya and with so many colleges coming up whose main aim is to make money and not nurture professionals who can be able to stand on their own after school, these young mothers unable to afford the high school fees have no choice but to be confined to a world of struggle and casual jobs. They are therefore unable to provide for their kids even the basic needs which in turn leads to increase in street children.
The aim of these campaign is to help startup and hair and beauty salon and college where these young mothers passionate about bettering their lives and that of their children can find a home and attain the necessary skills to help them start their own salon and support their kids and even help raise the living standards of their families.
