Sometimes - Bad things happen to good people

Sometimes people fall on hard times.  Usually you can point out the bad decisions, missed opportunities, or other shortcomings and happily go on with your life with the understanding that bad things happen to bad people.  As sad as it may be you can't shake the feeling that they reaped what they sowed.

But every so often you come across a puzzler.  The nice family down the street has fallen on hard times.  They've always been friendly.  You've had back yard barbeque together, played a friendly game of volleyball.  Perhaps they helped you fix your car when it wouldn't start, or they were there walking the neighborhood streets for hours with you when your dog ran off.  Perhaps you've seen them taking meals to families in need?  Collecting canned goods for a charity?  Were they there for you when your mother passed away?  Did they give you strength when you were abused?  Did that happy family that was always smiling, always ready to do service give you something to look up to?  Something to admire?

How out of balance the universe seems when they have fallen on hard times.

I have a close friend who has done all of the above and probably so much more that I don't know.  This family has been through hard times that none should have to endure.

I'm hoping that some kind strangers will be willing to kick in a few dollars here and there to help.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this.
