The Fashion Education Foundation is a charitable trust that provides previously disadvantaged individuals with an opportunity to engage in formal study to prepare themselves for a career in the fashion industry. The opportunities to study the arts in South Africa are limited; more so for those who are not in a position of financial privilege. The Fashion Education Foundation was established in 2008 by Lance Hunter, a Cape Town businessman, to afford highly talented people from underprivileged or previously disadvantaged backgrounds with the opportunity to pursue a career in fashion by granting bursaries to select candidates.
