Campaign Story
Lisa and her daughter arrived in Australia from South Africa last February to build a better life. Two weeks later Australia went into lockdown for the pandemic. Lisa and her daughter have worked hard to stay in Australia and comply with their visa obligations, working towards becoming Australian residents. Without the support of the government so many of us enjoyed, things have been tough to say the least. Now I am asking you, on their behalf, to help pay for public school fees (which many of us receive for free) so that this mother and daughter duo can continue their education here in Australia. Mother, Lisa, works but is only allowed to do a maximum of 20 hours per week while on her student visa. She also studies early childhood and provides for her teenage daughter.
Jess, Lisa’s teenage daughter, needs to enrol in school which requires payment of 6 months in advance, plus uniforms and supplies. An expensive exercise indeed! Something all parents and carers know all to well.
After such a long and difficult year last year, even the smallest donation can significantly improve the future of this lovely mother and daughter. Please help wherever you can, and share with your friends.
Thank you in advance,
Lauren

Hang in there and stay positive. Acknowledge and appreciate yourself for doing the best you can. Don't be afraid to ask for help and learn how to receive it. You got this! (I know how tricky and expensive migration situations can be...They are not keen to make exceptions and they 'stick to the rules' even when they simply don't apply to your current situation...Keep trying, don't give up)
