Simon Is Battling Cancer & Needs Our Help

As you may know, in March 2014 Simon was diagnosed with terminal cancer in his lungs. As a family we are really thankful that he is still with us, and grateful for the various experimental treatments his doctors have been able to try over the three years.

The most recent treatment (a form of radiotherapy) has brought the tentative good news that it got rid of all his tumours. We are celebrating this and waiting to hear what the longer term indications will be.

In the meantime, Simon is unable to work and is ineligible for any benefits or state allowances. He's still quite unwell with the longer term effects of both the cancer and the treatment and it's as yet uncertain how quickly he will recover from these, if at all. The three and a half years have taken quite a toll, including financially!

We are running a separate fundraiser which you can find here (www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/help-simon) to cover 3 months of living costs (£1,000) in the short-term. However, we wanted to do this bigger one to give some long-term financial peace to Simon and to the family. We still don't know what the future holds and even if he is given the all clear, it will be a long while until he'll be able to return to work, if at all.

Including early repayment fees, there is £37035.39 left on the mortgage. Anything raised on this fundraiser will go towards that.
