Three years ago, I was blessed to have spent three unforgettable weeks in Nepal, trekking in remarkable Himalayas. Among all the great people I met during this extraordinary time, there was Sherpa Hari, who was our group guide. His experience, knowledge and skill helped us survive this challenging trek. Today Hari and his family are one of the many people affected by the earthquake in Nepal. They lost the most precious thing they had – their shelter – and today they need our help.

We all saw some gruesome images in the news; entire villages wiped off from the earth, schools and public institutions destroyed, the greatest historical sites vanished.

Almost 9000 people killed and 23000 injured. Enormous and unimaginable number…

It was nothing they did wrong. There was nothing they could do to avoid it. They just happened to live in this region of the world. Fate of living in the dignified neighborhoods of splendid Himalayas turned out to be their curse on this occasion. Many of us heard some heartbreaking stories of those who lost their love ones, of those who lost everything they had. And they really do not have much, the people of Nepal. For many of them their shelter is all there is. Sadly, thousands of people have lost that too. The dust settled but they still remain homeless, like Hari and his family of eight. His house is still standing but it is not safe to live in. What once was providing protection, became a dangerous place to be. Currently, himself and his family, stay outside in makeshift tents, struggling with the adverse weather conditions of the monsoon season and working hard to rebuild their house as quickly as possible. The monsoon delivered intense rain, large hail and powerful winds and tents are not the place to be. Soon they will face winter season, when temperatures can plummet under sub-zero. With their limited resources, they need our support.

I address all of you who wonder how they can make a difference to the earthquake survivors and simply, all the people of good heart. It would be fantastic to collect amount that will help Hari and his family to rebuild their house as soon as possible, to survive the monsoon season in good health and have the house ready for winter. You have an opportunity to bring a substantial help that can make a significant difference in one family’s life. It may not seem much to you but it will mean the world to them. By supporting this cause, you can be sure that there is one family out there in the world that will actually benefit from your donations in most significant way. It means everything. You can simply help them survive.

Please note that all donations are welcome; no matter how small they may seem, they can make a huge difference.

THANK YOU FOR GIVING HARI AND HIS FAMILY HOPE!
