Help Shane in his fight with Lymphoma Cancer

Update posted by Simon Thorpe On Mar 03, 2021

So today Shane travelled down to Palmerston North from Taranaki to see his Doctor. His doctor has confirmed that he has T cell rich large B-cell lymphoma, so two different types which makes it a very rare cancer. Tomorrow he will be having a CT scan before he will begin his treatment. He currently has an infection on his wound from a few weeks ago from when he had testing on his lower abdomen lymph nodes that also needs sorting first. He will then commence Chemotherapy treatment with his first session taking over 7 hours and then again a day later. He will then have more Chemo treatment again in 3 weeks time.

He currently on sick leave from his farming job unable to provide for his family. Your donations will help his family out with travel, food and somewhere to live. He is currently looking for other work in Taranaki and also a house to rent near Opunake.

Shane has had a CT scan and more blood test, the results are Tumors have started going down which is good but now they are looking into Hodgkins lymphoma, which is a blood cancer that affects his white blood cells.

Therefore more investigation is required and the current treatment plan to be revised.

Please keep the donations coming in as these are a very big help.to him and his family during this tough time.

I was sorry to hear about this. Shane, you were always easy to smile and I am sorry that this has entered your life. If this goes some small way to helping you through your journey, that would be amazing. Stay strong, and good luck.
