Campaign Story
Hi my names Liam Clare and I will be completing the Dewsbury 10k to help raise money for Kiegan Wilcox's trip to America for cancer treatment.
Kiegan is 12 years old and was sadly diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal carsinoma cancer literally just before Christmas. Nasopharyngeal carsinoma cancer is known to be rare, starting at the back of the nose, working its way down through the glands into the neck and eventually spreading to the lungs. However we was lucky enough to discover the cancer before it reached Kiegans lungs. The doctors have given us hope that the cancer is curable, as long as he undergoes intense treatment.
Kiegan started chemotherapy at Manchester Children's hospital on the 29th. He'll have chemotherapy till the end of February. After this treatment is finished Kiegan will be travelling to the University of Florida proton therapy institute, USA to begin intense radiotherapy.
The treatment he'll be receiving is unfortunately not available in England.All donations are appeciated thanks for your help.
