Who am I?

Hello and welcome! My name is Keira Medina and I am currently a sophomore at Sebring High School. I am a straight A student taking rigorous classes such as honor classes and plan on taking Advanced Placement classes in the upcoming fall. My extracurricular activities consist of soccer, my youth group’s drama team and worship team, and my main passion band. I have played alto saxophone for four years and started learning piano the beginning of this past school year; along with learning the basics of music theory in school. Music is a part of me as much as anything else. Learning and playing it is something I’ve always enjoyed to do and will always love to do.

So what am I raising money for?

The Florida Ambassadors of Music have a music adventure known as the Europe trip every two years. This trip is a sixteen day trip where students perform in European cities and villages along with many other musically gifted students, while visiting seven fascinating European countries. The countries include England (London), France (Paris), Switzerland (Crans-Montana), Liechtenstein (capital village Vaduz), Austria (Seefeld and Innsbruck), Italy (Venice), and Germany (village of Rothenburg and Frankfurt). In each of these cities students are able to sightsee many historic places such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris and Buckingham Palace in London. As a student on this trip you get to experience the many different cultures in Europe and witness how music is something enjoyed all around the world. This is the 9^th consecutive trip my school has been invited to and only happens once in a life time. The experience would be worthwhile for me. Being able to visit different countries while learning music and meeting other people would really be a dream come true. Of course the main problem is money. The fee to go on this trip is $6,000, including concert arrangements, jet transportation to and from Europe, hotels, two meals per day (not counting dinner), and sightseeing fees (transportation, fees to get into places, English speaking guides, etc). On top of that $6,000 I need about another $1,000 to be able to buy dinner, snacks, a passport, and other necessities for the trip. By June of 2013 I need a $600 down payment for the trip. $7,000 is a lot of money that my family can’t just write out a check for. Please, I am asking for any amount of donation you can give in order to help me go. This trip will only happen once and it is something I would really enjoy doing. Thank you!
