Help send Charlotte to Nelson Mandela University 2018

My dream is to become an Architect and I have been accepted to study Architectural Technology at NMU in 2018.

However I need financial assistance to pay for my tuition and accommodation for 2018.

I stay in a small Karoo Town where there aren’t many job opportunities and unemployment is a challenge many people here face on a daily basis. It is easy to get depressed and despondent by the effects of poverty and unemployment, to stop dreaming of a better future and just give up.

Most people would say that it would be impossible for me to ever study at an University because my mom would never be able to afford it, but I believe that through the compassion of others the IMPOSSIBLE can be made POSSIBLE.

I have been dedicated to my schoolwork, getting good grades and I have received many academic awards over the last 3 years. My hard work paid off as I have been accepted to study at Nelson Mandela University. However I have been unable to obtain a bursary as most applications closed by the end of September and I only received notification of my acceptance at NMU on 24 October 2017.

I don’t want people to support my studies financially because we are poor; I want people to support my studies as an investment in my potential.

I am hard working and dedicated to achieving success. I know I have so much potential and that I will be able to make a success of my future and the future of others once I have my degree. I will be able to change my circumstances and help my mom as well.

I am so excited about the work I will be doing one day. I hope that I will be able to work on projects that uplift disadvantaged people. Helping communities gain access to much needed services through developing clinics and schools.
