Campaign Story
Andrew Simmonds, known to his friends as 'the fat old trucker' has taken 19 volunteers free of charge to the Jungle in Calais over the last few months. Andrew also volunteers himself in the Jungle and is an amazing and kind man. Sadly in the last month, Andrew has been burgled twice.
Andrew has given so much of his time and money helping others, it is time we help him back. He really deserves it. Every £1 will be a real gift for him so he can replace some of the things that were stolen. He doesn't ever ask for anything for himself so he doesn't know yet that I have set up this page. Hope he's not too cross with me.
Thank you Andrew, you have helped the refugees so very much. You are amazing!

A huge thank you!
Update posted by Lorna Wilkinson at 11:25 pmI just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all of you who have donated. Each and every one of you have been amazingly kind. We are over half-way there and Andrew is just so touched. All I can say is that I hope your kindness is repaid tenfold

I don't know if I actually met Andrew or not, but I volunteered in Calais for 2 weeks so I know what it's like and how important people's generosity, friendliness and good humour are valued there. Maybe as well as receiving money donations someone could ask him for a list of what he lost... perhaps someone has an old laptop or phone spare they could give him?
