Please consider help saving Woody from being sold

I rescued Woody in 2016 from a life of competing at graded level - which he HATED to the point of developing behavioral issues and a series of life threatening ulcers. We spend many many many hours de-programming his years of 'training' to the point where he could simply be himself and trust humans again. I have never met a more loving, caring, thoughtful thoroughbred than him.

I lost my business (Restaurant & Pub) directly due to Covid and lockdowns at the end of 2020. There is just no way to keep a pub afloat during draconian lockdown rules and the ban on alcohol sales. I managed to keep a roof over my head and my awesome livery manager was able to carry Woody's livery costs up until now. I am eternally grateful for the help and concession in carrying the costs involved in taking care of a Thoroughbred.

Selling him is a quick fix to a quick buck. No doubt I would have any problems selling him as he is quite sought after in the jumping circles, but that defeats the object. He will be plunged back in to the world of competing and he will be back to square one, being forced into the competition world, where he will become a soulless ego enhancer for who ever rides him.

Hence my humble urgent request for any donation - no matter how big or small - that can directly contribute to his livery costs. Thus ensuring that he stays with his herd and his livery mom where he is happy and content. Where he can live out the rest of his life being the fantastic horse that he is.
