Please help us to continue to rescue soi (street) dogs in the Northeast of Thailand!
Hi there, my name is Steve, my wife and I live on a small farm in the Northeast Of Thailand. Over the years we have developed a reputation for helping sick, injured and stray dogs. In the last 15 years we have treated and cared for over 100 dogs and we have loved every single one.
We have taken time to assess each one for their suitability to be found a permanent, loving home and have now placed 93 into loving new homes. The ones we feel unable to place, for whatever reason, live with us. We currently have 9 beautiful animals running around our property of all shapes and sizes. Each one a joy in their own right!
We NEVER have a fit and healthy animal put to sleep!
We would dearly love to do more as there are so many beautiful creatures that still require assistance. We wish to locate soi dogs from the city and surrounding province before local entrepreneurs do so. Sadly although the practice of rounding up strays and sending them over the boarder to Cambodia and Vietnam has been outlawed for some years the trade in dogs continues. We are appalled by this and desperately wish to do all we can to give these innocent dogs a chance of a brighter future.
To enable us to do this we realize we must have the facilities to do so. We have the land available, we have the desire in abundance but unfortunately the funding is beyond us at this time. If we could build some permanent kennels, storage hut, treatment room and improve boundary walls and fencing everything else can be funded by us.
We have estimated that the cost of this would be approximately 400,000 baht (appox. $12,700).
We believe we can care for around 90 dogs a year in the facilities and using the network of fellow dog lovers assembled over the last 15 years will be able to place all those that are suitable into loving, caring homes.
As previously stated, we promise to NEVER have a fit, healthy animal euthanized!
If we by some miracle manage to obtain the funding for our project we would also look to become a registered charity so the work could contine for as long as it is needed.
Therefore we are praying that this request for funding reaches as many fellow dog lovers as possible and some of you can spare a few dollars to help these wonderful animals. Any amount you feel you can give we would be eternally grateful for and it will truly make a huge difference to these dogs lives.
We thank you for taking the time to read this and would politely ask that even if you cannot help financially could you please share this on your social media. We are told that a share is as good as a donation so please, please share away, it’s so important .
Bless you all
