Sweetie came into this world with 8 other brothers and sisters! She was born a country kitty approximately 2-3 months ago. Before the kittens were located sadly 3 of her siblings passed away. I gathered up the remaining 6 (no easy task, they were quick and sneaky little buggers!) and brought them into the house to care for. I did what I could to get them cleaned up and fatten them up. Sadly 2 more passed away despite my efforts. After 2 weeks, 3 were fat, happy and much healthier. They were good to rejoin their mother back outside :) But I wasn't sure if Sweetie would make it outside yet. Her eyes were still gunky and she was still rather thin despite the yummy wet food and supplements. So I brought her home with me to give her some extra TLC. She is a happy and playful kitten. She gained more weight, but her right eye was still so swollen. I was worried about it and doing the best I could to keep it clean and flush it. But her eye likely won't be salvageable and she may need to have an enucleation surgery to have her eye removed and sutured shut. If the procedure isn't done it can lead to an infection that can spread to her brain. Sadly the tests to check her eye and the medications alone are roughly $200. And the procedure (if her eye does indeed need to be taken out) isn't cheap and the Vet Hospital require full payment at the time services are rendered. The procedure alone can cost about $1000. We looked and looked for Vets that would be willing to do payment plans, but the best we found was at least 60% up front. We just don't have the money for it. She is such a sweet, cuddly happy and playful little thing and we want to save her. Our son has become quite attached to her, and so have we. We don't want to lose her. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated and I know our little Sweetie would be forever thankful to continue her new happy little life.
